How Can I Get Involved?Interested in short term mission? Every year, a number of people go from Alma Church to serve for a period of weeks or months as volunteers in short-term missions. The Missions Team can assist in three ways:
To help us support you please download and complete the application form >> Mission? What's that? How can I understand more about what mission means today? We recommend that you check out the following websites: Both offer many informative and thought-provoking texts and ideas. We've also produced a series of Bible Studies which highlight some of the issues facing the church today - ask us (Bob Hurley) for details. I've got a particular organisation or individual I support already and I'd like to tell others about their work - what could I do? Why not organise a meeting in the church hall? You could lay on themed food, music, invite a speaker, etc... even turn it into a fund-raising event! I want to get involved in some mission work - what could I do? Loads of things! Ask us about opportunities, or check
out these links:
We're really keen to reinforce links with our supported missionaries, too, so if you fancy a week or so in Spain, India, Thailand or deepest south Bristol, please let us know. I want to get involved locally - what could I do? Again, there are loads of local opportunities to serve. We'll be happy to point you in the right direction. You could also check out the Bristol Christian Action Network. I'm interested in social justice issues... So are we! Come and chat to us, and if you want to coordinate a campaign within alma, then we'd be happy to help. I'd like to be involved in missions planning at Alma Then you are an answer to prayer! We'd love you to join us and are always looking for new team members and fresh ideas; contact Bob Hurley. |
